Atlantic City at the Tropicana
July 27, 2009
Ok so Atlantic City was great I spent most of my time at the Tropicana’s Hotel. I felt like I was outside the whole time. The ceiling was clouds and they had lights and balconies I felt like I was at a Island in the main town……..

The halls were beautiful………

Before we went on our partying spree we wanted to grab at bite to eat ,due to all the alcohol consumed on the ride over it took a little longer then usual for us girls to get out of the hotel room..But we were still able to strike a pose waiting for the elevator..

The hotel was great I had alot of fun roaming the halls and gambling even though I didnt win anything lol. I will definitly be going back very soon.
If your planning a little getaway to Atlantic City be sure to check out the tropicana..Igive it a thumbs up

Exclusive Interview with The R
July 23, 2009
Were where you born & raised?
I was born in uptown Manhattan but moved 2 Queens when I was 12.
You are known as The R. How did you get that name?
I use to meet people all the time in the club and with the music blasting they wouldn’t remember my name. So, One day I just cut it down to R. When I first met someone they remember me better as R rather then just Ralphie. My boy Leo from Queens Finest put The in front of the R…He would work the door and when he saw me he would say “The R” and I would say “The Leo”. People would hear it and just call me The R. It just took off from there.
When did you first realize photography was your passion?
It was never really a passion. I just saw the value of it. When I started it was more of a way to make money…meet beautiful woman and go out for free but as time went on..I started to appreciate it as a form of art.
What’s the first professional picture you ever took and where did you take it at?
The first club I got hired for was at China Club in 2003. Then in 2005 I started doing photography full time
You have been in the club scene for awhile now. How did you get involved in that industy?
Well, I have to give it all to my boy Jason Howard. I met him in the gym one day and he was showing his pictures to the dude at the front desk of the gym. So, I noticed he took a picture of Ice-T and CoCo. Me being who I am, I approached him..we started talking and I basically said that if he ever needed help to give me a call and he did. Now 6 years later. Here I am
What do you hope people get out of the pictures you take?
I want people 2 know that situations come and go. For example, One day, I went to take pics in the Bronx of the birthplace of Hip-Hop…took the train back into the city…took pics of India Arie for her album release party then went to another club and took pics of Bobby Valentino for his B-Day party. That happend all in one day. Situations come and go. I just capture mine with my photos.
Have you met any interesting people in this business?
The list is endless……… Since I work for Hot97.com I’ve met and taken pics of Beyonce, P-Diddy, Janet Jackson, Russell Simmons…..The list is endless but the most interesting person I met was the vice president of Sean John. Actually, That picture made it into the Source Magazine. So, I went to his office and I just saw success. I was in awe.
What is the craziest thing that happened to you in the club?
Man, I’ve had sooooooooo many insane situations. It could watching a fight between girls and taking pics of it as it was happening or finding money after a brawl between dudes or having a 3-sum after the club…The situations are endless..
Well, I don’t think that the club scene is bad. In reality, It’s actually a good thing.. A club is basically a place where people who have the same likes and interest get together to listen to music, have a drink, and socialize. The problem is when you have people who aren’t mature and don’t know how to handle liquor. Music, Lights, Sexy people together, drinking, those are all combinations that can make a night amazing or make the night fucked up.
Do you think that a man or a woman can be in a relationship with someone who goes out to the club scene?
Hmmm.. It all depends on the person. If you know that the person you’re dating is a big drinker and gets horny after a certain amount of drinks. Then no. But if the person you’re with is a social and is going out just to hang out with his or her friends then it’s all good. It all depends on the person. But in reality, you shouldn’t be in a relationship with someone who would rather hang out in a club then hang out with you. It’s all about balance.
Are you focused just on photography or do you also have other passions?
I have a passion for making things happen on my own terms. That is the only way you are going to be a success in this world. Working for your self and being a success at it. That is life at its best.
Is there anything as of right now that you are working on now? Or in the works?
Yes, I actually wrote a movie and it is being filmed in August. My boy CHRISTIAN-POOKIERAZZI-SAN-MARTIN is directing. That is my biggest project right now. I consider myself a hip-hop activist.
How did you become a hip-hop activist?
Well. It all started when I did a photo documentary of the birthplace of Hip-Hop which is 1520 Sedwick Avenue in the Bronx. So, for all who don’t know. That is the place where D.J Kool Herc did his first party. When I went to the building, I didn’t know where the fuck I was going so I asked the thugs who were coming out of the building where did everything happen at? And none of them knew. I was shocked and sad by it. A little old woman who came out the building showed me where the first hip-hop party was which was in the community center of the building and she also showed me the park that was the first outdoor party. After that day. It really affected me because Hip-Hop is in every part of the world and my people don’t even appreciate that fact. From that day on I wanted to make a difference.
What is your movie about?
Well, the movie is actually 3 movies put together.
The 1st story tells a story of a guy who goes out to the club and had a one night stand. The problem is that he is in love with his girlfriend and he decides to be honest and tell his girlfriend he cheated on her. The 2nd story tells the story of his girlfriend and how she is gets revenge on him and the 3rd story tells the story about the girl that he initially meets and how she is able to have a one-night stand without thinking bad of herself. It’s basically a story of people living their lives.
I love writing. I just figured i would try to write a screenplay and see what happens. My boy Pookie read the script and loved it. Since he is in film school, we just decided to make it happen. I hope to put the movie in the film festivals but we’ll see
If you would have to choose your best moment working in this business what would it be?
My best moment was meeting a idol of mine. His name is Johnny Nunez. He is basically a event photographer but to the highest degree. When I first started photography, I read a article about him and I decided to cut it out and post it on my wall for inspiration. 3 years later. I am working with him, chillen in his brownstone and he signed the magazine artice. I have it framed on my way right now. That was the best
If you could tell other inspired photographers how to get to were you are today, what would you say?
Understand the value to it. You are in a situation that will forever capture the moment. Don’t take it for granted and look at the B.I.G.G.E.R picture of life.
Do you have a website?
Not right now. I had issues with it.
But you can check out my blog. www.r09nyc.wordpress.com or check out
my myspace page. I basically made it into a website. www.myspace.com/ralphiethephotographer

I had the pleasure of talking to the founders of NightOut Entertainment heres what they had to say:
Wiso -Brooklyn it is!!
Wiso -We also knew the same people in HS.
How did the idea of promoting come into play?
JC – In Feb 2008 we went to DJ C-LO ski trip and we spoke about partnering up and taking over spots in NYC.
Wiso -I asked JC to partner in NiteOut entertainment due to both of us promoting solo, we both had made our spots in the night business and we knew it would only get bigger if we linked up.
Was there any hardships that came along in the past?
JC -Wiso is a stubborn, anal and hard headed so there are always bumps on the road lmao.
Wiso – JC supports everything I do and say regardless if he thinks its the stupidest thing in the world hahaaa. Oh wait he the cheapest person I ever met, JC is a SLACKER!! j/k its a business there’s always bumpy roads if there wasn’t that would mean something is wrong.
What was the first club you guys did together?
JC -We did Hawaiian Tropics in Times Square NYC Feb 2008
Wiso – Yeah we killed that spot
Was NightOut the first choice you guys had for your name?
JC -I was promoting a few spots under “JC’s LIST”, Wiso had the Hotter Entertainment
Wiso – After Hotter Entertainment I was NiteOutn entertainment solo from march 2006 before we agreed to partner in NiteOut entertainment in 2008
You can see how strong of a friendship these guys have for each other they came a long way from when they started and have become one of the top promoters in NYC. There parties are straight madness! Nothing but the hottest DJ’s playing the latest music. And the girls that they have put me to shame.
Seriously guys check them out
